Ahly Rovers beat Liberty Rainbow

Cape Coast, June 23, GNA - Cape Coast Nadel Ahly Rovers whipped Ankaful based Liberty Rainbow 3-0 in their Central Region Division Two league match played at the Cape Coast Robert Mensah stadium on Sunday. Rovers who top the Zone One league table with 26 points led 1-0 at half time.

On resumption of the second half, Liberty Rainbow matched their opponents boot to boot and twice came close to scoring but their midfielder, John Mensah, on both occasions shot off target. The visitors continued to dictate the pace of the game but unfortunately for them, outside right John Terry in the 70th minute sneaked through an offside position to increase the tally to two against the run of play. Rainbow's hopes of drawing level were dashed when full back, Murtala Mohammed raised the goal tally to 3-0 with a beautiful free kick. 23 June 08
