Ahli Rovers draw with Abreshia United

Cape Coast, April 15, GNA - Abreshia United stopped the winning spree of the Central Region Division Two (Zone One) league leaders, Ahli Rovers, when they forced them to a 1-1 draw game in their league match played at the Mfantsipim Senior High School sports grounds on Sunday. Rovers who had won all their four matches since the league began, were shocked by United when they scored an early goal through midfielder, Michael Amissah, in the 10th minute. The league leaders, realizing their prestige was at stake threw everything into attack on resumption of the second half and twice came close to scoring but they had to wait until the 89th minute when their top striker, Awudu Ahli, scored the much needed equalizer.

Results of other league matches were Efutu Citrus Professionals also drew 2-2 with Oguaa United. Cape Coast Great Astronomers drew 1-1 with Agona Abrem Shallom with Abreshia Nsamka F/C playing a goalless drawn game with Jukwa Surowi United. Denkyira United spanked Adansi Praso WAECO F/C 3-I with Assin Akrofuom Santos F/C drawing 0-0 with Assin North United. Saltpond Brondby F/C beat Abura Dunkwa Galaxy 2-1 while Mankessim Great Royals also beat Saltpond Kampsite 2-1. Mankessim Mighty Victory lost 0-1 to Odonase Schalke 'O4', Gomoa Techiman Daig Mafrey F/C beat Gomoaman Dahlin 2-1 and Senya Bereku URB F/C lost 0-2 Buduburam F/C. Gomoa Mampong Hi-Kings F/C pipped Buduburam Children Better Way 1-0 while Ekotsi Jenaak F/C spanked Mankoadze Asaase F/C 3-0.
