Agyemang Badu to see specialist in Spain

Accra, May 12, GNA - Black Stars midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu left for Barcelona, Spain on Wednesday to sought medical advice on a recent injury.

Agyemang Badu, who stars for Italian side, Udinese overstretched a muscle few minutes after coming on a substitute during the Club's 2-2 draw with Cagliari two weeks ago thus effectively ruling him out for the remainder of the season.

Information gathered by GNA Sports indicates that the midfielder was flown to Spain under the recommendations of the Udinese medical team to enable a specialist to diagnose his injury.

The player is, however, expected back in Udine, Italy on Thursday after the examination by the specialist.

Meanwhile, the assurance news is that Badu is close to fitness level and is expected to be ready before the Black Stars training tour of France for South Africa 2010 FIFA World Cup.

He was named in the provisional 30-man squad unveiled by Black Stars trainer Milovan Rajevac last week.

The midfielder is fondly remembered for converting the last spot kick that ensured Ghana's Black Satellites won the FIFA U-20 World Cup trophy at the expense of Brazil in Egypt last September.
