Africa U20: Nigeria, South Africa reach semi-finals

Nigeria and South Africa reached the semi-finals of the African Youth Football championship after Sunday's last Group B matches.

Nigeria thrashed the Cote d'Ivoire 3-0 while the South Africans went through des pite losing 1-2 to Egypt.

The Nigerians dominated play and scored through Christiantus Macauley (34th), Lukman Haruna, (75th, penalty) and Rabiu Ibrahim (79th).

Egypt led 2-0 through Talat Rahman Abdou Mohammed in 6th and 39th minutes but South Africa secured their place by goal difference when Thulane Ngepe pulled one back in the 70th minute.

Ghana who topped Group A will face the runners-up from Group B, South Africa while Nigeria will play the runner-up of Group A Cameroon on Wednesday.
