Afranie Defends FA

Black Stars care-taker Coach, E.K Afranie has staunchly defended the Ghana Football Administration over their decision to let the Black Stars travel to Nigeria, by road to honour an International friendly against the Super Green Eagles at the Surelere Stadium in lagos on sunday.

Speaking in an interview monitored on FOX FM in Kumasi on tuesday morning, Mr. Afranie stated that there are very difficult assignments ahead of the Black Stars and as such, it would be economically unwise to spend our meagre resources on friendlies.

"We need to save some money by travelling to Lagos by road, afterall, our Nigerian counterparts did the same when they travelled by road to beat us here in Accra,Coach Afranie inferred"

According to the Coach, the skipper of the Black Stars,Stephen Appiah, alongside two other professionals have expressed their desire to travel to Lagos at their own expense to honour that match. He called on all Ghanaians not to loose hope in the National Teams,as with hard work and proper planing, the Nation shall once again reclain its past glories.
