Ghana winger Albert Adomah turned an instant hero on his return for Middlesbrough by coming off the bench to score in their emphatic 3-1 triumph over Brentford at the Riverside on Tuesday night.

Adomah basically had to come off the bench to rescue Middlesbrough as he assisted a goal and powered the winner for before a noisy fan-packed Riverside Stadium as he raced to embrace manager Karanka after sealing the game for them.

The 27-year-old climbed off the Boro bench to replace Italian Diego Fabbrini on the hour mark and added his name to the score-sheet with a neat low drive from inside of the box.

Boro boss Aitor Karanka selected the Black Stars player in his squad for the first time since coming off the bench in their 1-0 home loss to Bristol City due to a transfer banter between himself and the Spanish manager.

The former Premier League campaigners appeared to be in trouble when they saw Christian Stuani’s 35th minute cancelled out by Lasse Vibe.

But Adomah stepped off the bench in the 60th minute and conjured his magic by assisting Stuani to restore the lead and send the fans back into ecstatic.

Adomah then turned an instant hero as he wrapped up the victory with a crucial strike in the 77th minute.
