Addy up for Super Eagles test

Ghana lost their last semifinal against Cameroon after beating Nigeria in the quarterfinal two years ago but Berekum Chelsea's strond defender,LeeAddy who has worked his way into the team’s starting pack is confident they can go one better.

The Black Stars rode their luck enroute to beating the host Angola who missed several good opportunities. And Addy at several points in the game looked like a bunch of nerves even though he says that won’t happen on Thursday.

"We know it is a rivalry match but the senior are psyching us up not to lose focus and concentrate on the game and no matter what the case maybe, we will overcome them,” Addy told journalists. "It will be very difficult but nothing is impossible. With their big names, we will overcome them. No matter what the case may be, we will do our possible best.”

Ghana and Nigeria have a thriving rivalry that has been played out at the Nations Cup several times.

Nigeria took the spoils in the quarter finals of the 2002 Nations Cup in Mali and the group stage of the 2006 tournament in Egypt all by lone goal victories.

Ghana were 2-1 winners in their quarterfinal meeting two years ago and recorded a similar score line in 1992 on their way to their last Final in Senegal which they lost to the Ivory Coast.
