Acting Hearts CEO - Tommy Okine

The Board of Directors of Accra Hearts of Oak on Wednesday accepted the resignation letter tendered in by the club’s former Chief Executive Officer, Harry Zakkour. The club’s team manager, Thomas Okine takes over the hot seat in an acting position.

Attempts by sections of the club’s support base to impress upon Harry to rescind his decision, proved futile since, according to the charismatic boss, he has made up his mind.

Thomas Okine is expected to handle the position, which is being sought for by various individuals associated with the club, with dispatch having worked closely with Harry Zakkour in the past years.

Ongoing investigations indicate that, Messers Kojo Twum-Boafo, the Board Chairman’s personal assistant and Neil Armstrong are in contention for the CEO’s position. Both men have indicated their preparedness to take over if given the job.

The club’s board has also tasked the marketing and sponsorship unit of the club to raise an amount of 2 billion cedis to improve the club’s financial backing for the current league season and their participation in the CAF continental matches.
