Abedi: Nania just kids, still learning

Nania FC owner, bankroller and coach Abedi Pele insists his sensational side are still novices in the game in this country even after beating the league champions Berekum Chelsea 4-3 on penalties to claim the Alhaji Sly Tetteh Super Cup.

“No we are not the best team in Ghana, no, no, no. We are humble, we are young, we are just learning, we are kids. We’ll keep working hard to build on the modest gains we have achieved so far.

“What is next for Nania is we are going to work very hard and to go to Africa to exhibit the football Ghanaians are seeing,” Pele exclusively told ALL SPORTS amid the Super Cup firmly in his grasp.

He also shies away from claiming any of the plaudits for leading his sensational second tier side to beat the Ghana champions yet again, much the same way the Maestro is not promising any heroics when Nania take on the big boys of African football next year.

“I think it’s not me, it’s the boys, they fought for it. It was difficult but through their commitment and hardwork we were able to do it.

“We are not promising anything. Let us be humble and stay very hardworking and continue to play good football and let’s see what the Confederations Cup have in store for us,” Abedi opined.
