Abdul Wahab wins day for Faisal

Kumasi, Nov. 7, GNA - Abdul Wahab hit a brace to enable side, Kumasi King Faisal to chalk a 2-1 victory over visiting Tudu Mighty Jets in their 10th week fixture of the Glo Premier League match played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday. The striker scored his two goals in the third and 28th minutes of the match.

Faisal began the match on a fast note as they piled pressure on Jets and succeeded in breaking the deadlock in the third minute when Wahab connected home Prince Arko's in-swinger straight into the net. A minute later, Ofosu Micky who was within scoring range was brought down in the box for a penalty but the resultant kick was wasted by Arko.

Faisal stepped up their game and made it two through Wahab when in the 28th minute he again connected home a corner kick from delivered by Kwadwo Boateng.

In the second half, the visitors tightened their midfield and used the flanks effectively but failed to take advantage of their chances. With John Owusu and Richard Ofori constantly threatening the goal area of Faisal, it came as no surprise when Stephen Adams in a solo effort beat advancing goalkeeper Ibrahim Iddrisu to redeem a goal for his side in the 65th minute. At the Asante-Bekwai Gyamfi Park, New Edubiase FC settled for a goalless drawn game with visiting Wa All Stars.
