‘AFCON final overshadowed our win against Kotoko’

Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Herbert Addo says the 2015 African Cup of Nations final overshadowed their all-important 1-0 win over bitterest rivals Asante Kotoko.

The Black Stars played their Ivorian counterparts in the final of the 2015 African Cup of Nations, a day after the Hearts team posed a lone goal victory over Kotoko in the match week 6 game of the First Capital Plus league, played at the Baba Yara stadium.

“I am happy the AFCON is finally over and we can all fully concentrate on the league. I must admit that whilst the competition was ongoing, it took some bite and affection out of the supporters, with respect to the league and it was evident in our game against Kotoko”, Coach Addo told sportscrusader.com

“Right now the entire nation is sad over the loss of the final and it’s understandable because in whatever we do, Ghana first.” “This means that we can only get better and prove that what we did in Kumasi was not a fluke”, the coach added.
