‘A Ghana call-up won’t surprise’

Ghana striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom says making a return to the Black Stars team for the 2014 WC qualifier against Egypt will be a deserved call-up.

The Juventus striker who is on loan at Spanish La Liga team Elche has been in the limelight lately after scoring on his Elche debut and also netting against Real Madrid lately.

“I won’t be surprised to earn a call up to the Black Stars because I believe in this world if you are doing something and it is going well you deserve to be rewarded accordingly.

“As far as I’m concern I have been invited to the Black Stars before at the Nations Cup which unfortunately I couldn't play because of injury so I think if I’m being called to come and help my country I will be glad, he told Accra based, Joy Fm.

“My duty is always to make sure I’m doing the right thing and working hard to achieve whatever I want in life so if the call up comes now I won’t be surprised because I have put in more effort, the former Ghana U20 star added.

Boakye Yiadom impressed the technical team in the build up to Afcon 2013 but failed to make an appearance after picking an injury.
