2nd CAF/LOC Media Seminar fixed for September

Accra, Aug 16, GNA - The Confederation of African Football (CAF) in conjunction with the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the Ghana 2008 African Cup of Nations will organise the second in the series of media seminars next September.

The two-day non-residential seminar for accredited media practitioners is scheduled for Thursday, 20 and Friday 21, September, 2007 at the Coconut Groove Hotel in Accra.

A statement issued by the Chief Operating Officer (COO), of the LOC, Magnus Rex Danquah copied to GNA Sports said the seminar will provide opportunity for discussions on conditions that may influence the operations of journalists for the better within the well-laid CAF/Ghana LOC organization strategy.

It is also to ensure the success of media movement and other functions related to the 26th edition of the continent's showpiece event.

Rex Danquah said the two-day conference will have resource persons from CAF and Sportfive, owners of the marketing rights for the tournament who will brief the media on the related topics about the competition for their mutual benefit.

"Issues to be discussed include the possible offer of accreditations that would allow media practitioners access to teams, players and their officials and the right to interviews and conferences."

The LOC has therefore asked recognized media houses, both print and electronic to furnish the Secretariat with the names of two practising journalists by Friday, September 14 for accreditation and other arrangements.

The first ever edition of the CAF/LOC Seminar came off last March
