28 Satellites to camp

October 1: TWENTY eight local players of the national U-20 soccer team, the Black Satellites, have been invited to report to camp at the Winneba Sports College today.

They include George Owu, Owusu Banahene (Hasaacas), Anthony Amoful (Gag Roos), Addoquaye Pappoe, Ibrahim Attiku (Liberty), Joe Louis (Olympics), Frank Turkson (Hasaacas), Paul Aporik, John Cudjoe and Osei Kuffour (Capital Express Academy).

Others are Sulley Muntari (Owerriman), Mohammed Bello (Power FC), James Zogho, Charles Taylor, Ishmael Addo, Stephen Tetteh (Hearts), John Paintsil (Arsenal), Adamu Mohammed (Tops), Patrick Villar (Dwarfs), Stephen Oduro and Lawrence Kainya (Kotoko).

The rest are Ofosu Amoah (Goldfields), Matthew Attiogbe (Dwarfs), Yusif Alhassan (King Faisal), Stephen Opoku (Bronkyempem), Alex Mensah (Odupong Heroes), Thomas Asare (Bronkyempem) and Dan Oppong.

According to the head coach of the Satellites, E. K. Afranie, the above players were selected after 16 weeks of extensive training tour of seven out of 10 regions in the country.

He revealed that the final list was arrived at after due consideration was given to the age of the players, their performance and special abilities as well as discipline among others.
