27 Invited to Meteors

Twenty seven players of the national Under-23 soccer team, Black Meteors, have been invited to assemble at the Kumasi Stadium by 5 p.m. today to begin preparations for an All Africa Games qualifier against Cote d'Ivoire in two weeks’ time.

They are Amui Quaye, Kwabena Dodzi, John Cudjoe (Olympics); George Owu, Michael Osei, Abass Inusah, Godfred Yeboah (Asante Kotoko); John Paintsil, Emmanuel Pappoe, Mustapha Essuman, John (Suker) Cudjoe (Liberty Professionals); Charles Taylor, Wisdom Abbey and Bernard Dong Bortey (Hearts).

Others are Stephen Owusu, Felix Yeboah, Peter Annan (Hasaacas); Rashid Avevor (Midtjilland), Abdul Samed (Mine Stars); Francis Bossman, Robert Mensah and George Eranio (Arsenals), and Alhassan Mohammed and Kojo Poku (Bofoakwa). The rest are Siriki Mohammed (Heart of Lions); Kwabena Boakye and Dauda Seidu (Goldfields).The team will be handled by Coach E.K. Afranie, with Malik Jabir and Isaac Paha as his assistants.
