2009 U-20 WC: Ghana, England, Uruguay, Uzbekistan

Ghana has been drawn with England, Uruguay & Kazakhsatan for this year's Under-20 World Cup Sunday.

"For eight years we have not been to the U-20 World Cup so to return as champions of Africa is remarkable. It's gratifying to me that we're not just winning but also doing so by playing beautiful football," Ghana coach, Sellas Tetteh said ahead of the draw.

The Black Satellites, African champions will be based Ismailia where five of the six group matches will be played.

Ghana, two-time silver medallist at the world event will open their campaign with Uzbekistan in the opening game on September 26.

England will be Ghana’s second game opponents on September 29 with the final group game against Uruguay on October 2.

A total of 24 nations were entered into the draw with Fifa dividing the teams into six groups of four.

Africa has five representatives – Ghana, hosts Egypt, Cameroon, South Africa and Nigeria - at the tournament which kicks off on 24 September and ends on October 16 in Cairo.

All five teams from the continent will be bidding to become the first African winners of the tournament in its 32 year history.

Hosts Egypt will meet Trinidad and Tobago in the opening match on Thursday 24 September at the Egyptian Army Stadium in Alexandria.

Ghana reached the World finals after winning the African champions when the Black Satellites beat Cameroon 2-0 in the final of the continental championship.
