11 goals in four matches; Alloudi leads goal king chart

Accra, Jan. 21, GNA - Moroccan striker, Alloudi Soufiane has assumed leadership of the goal king chart after their opening game of the 26th Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana.

He scored a hat trick to jump ahead of the pack of players who have so far found the net, when Morocco whitewashed Namibia by five goals to one in the second 'Group A' match played at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra on Monday.

Alloudi found the net two minutes after kick off, when he took advantage of a rebound from playmaker Chamakh Marouane's shot. He hit the back of the net again three minutes later by tearing his makers into shreds in a move that drew several defenders into the fray. Brendell of Namibia pulled one back.

With Namibia looking settled and hopeful of equalizing in a matter of time, Alloudi was to strike again in the 28th minute to give his side a comfortable lead.

Six out of the eight goalkeepers featured have so far conceded 11 goals with all those at the Ohene Djan stadium in Accra having to pick the ball from their nets. They have so far picked the ball nine times from their nets. Those at Essipon, near Sekondi, have done far better with only two of them conceding a goal each while the other two have clean slates.

The goal king chart is follows:
