The recognition of spirituality among a respected group of people,tribe or ethnicity which is found within thier traditions and cultures are the basic foundation for their well being;economically, socially,governance etc.Since governance began from the palaces where nations priests and kings sat to reason together to seek to preserve and to respect the spiritual and the physical well being of the nation, it is wise and important to put first the respect of our traditions and culture before anything else. No wonder Africa lacks behind countries like Israel, Saudi, Italy, Egypt, China, Japan and even India etc who built their nation on foundations of their traditions and cultures alongside modern development system.The basic tool for nations development is the respect and preservation of their traditions and culture in which their spiritulity is recognised of which the colonial masters have coated it to be called RE-LIGION!

The need for us to respect our tradition and culture is necessary for our development and progress as a people.
Various ethnic groups have rites and traditions they observe as they prepare to celebrate their annual festivals. The requirement for peace and quiet as these rites and traditions are observed everywhere. It does not impose any ban on Christians to stop worshiping, so Christians go on worshiping during the period.
Accra is not a conquered territory to be treated with disdain for the culture and traditions of the indigenous/aboriginal inhabitants. When we all go to our respective origins we observe these traditions and customs as required, but when we came back to Accra as if it is not necessary to observe what we respect when we go to our respective hometowns.
What is the sense where during worship we continuously disturb making unnecessary noise in our communities to the chagrin of other residents.
One month traditional ban on noise making is good for the health of residents of Accra who continue to suffer from noise nuisance in the city.
Left to some of us the ban should even be extended to eight weeks so we can enjoy some peace and quiet.
Accra is not a conquered territory and the indigenous people deserve the right to be accorded the necessary respect and support to go through with performance of their rites and customs towards a peaceful Homowo celebrations!!!

The traditionalist on the Ga lands are the real custodians and everyone should abide by their laws. This is simple unless your mind is made up to disturb the peace. When these laws are implemented on other lands, you gladly obey but not on the land of the Gas. Why this is so , I find it extremely difficult to fathom. When the Ashantis say, no noise it is ok. When the Ewes say silence, it is ok. When the Fantis say there is a ban on noise making it is ok. When the Northern part of the country says there shall not emanate noise, it is accepted but when it comes to the turn of the Gas there is hue and cry. Why? Are the Gas not humans who also deserves same respect? Think about that. Go ahead and worship the Almighty but do not disturb the peace. Noise making is not about worship! Some of the noises are way beyond acceptable levels and injurious to the ear. Do the churches and Mosques agree to lower their level of noise when an individual raises a concern in normal times? The Pastors and Imams should answer this. You do not allow even people to meditate on the word of the Lord.

Unless of course these laws are human promulgted, with a motive, hence the defense of it through threats and violence each year! The same challenge was thrown to Baal in the Bible and it was found wanting! The Nigerians also threw the same challenge to the christiam missionaries by offering them plots of land in their evil forests to establish churches and to their surprise these churches got established and thrived and for once the gods of the evil forest couldn't defend their sanctuary! I challenge the traditionalists to leave their gods to enforce this law on drumming and dancing so all would be in awe of them! When you go fishing where fishing is forbidden no one stops you because they are sure you will reap the consequences! Only powerless deities need humans to fight for them!
