    Since money is simply a medium of exchange, it is not evil by default. What makes people evil is the spirit of wickedness, which, when they serve money (i.e. they are greedy) is further increased in potency.

    So may I ask another question? Yisrael (of old) was commanded by Yahweh to have a gold standard currency known as the Shekel.

    Is the Shekel standard currency instituted by God, something to be considered evil as well?
