This king was in deed wise right from the time he ascended the throne of his father, David, but he even became wiser following his excessive immoral indulgences.
It is out of those expreiences that he could pen the Book of Ecclesiastes for everyone to learn, but how many care to read it? He claims that, even that live of having so many wives and concubines is vanity.
It is unfortunate that you wrote as if to say, "look, the worse can happen. We will survive."
Solomon was wise, but his end suggests he was foolish. If only he followed the words of his father, David, and was righteous in the eyes of his God. He paid for his stupidity. Check what happened to his ancestral line in the O.T. Sciptures.

There is an old age couple, a middle aged couple and a newly-wed couple they all meet with the Pastor and he says "I would be delighted to have you join this church, but to show you're dedicated to it, you will have to go two weeks without sex to prove yourself." So they all accept the challenge.
Two weeks later, the couples are waiting in a room to talk with Pastor Otabil. He calls in the old age couple first, "How did you go?" So the husband says "Pastor, we're old, we have no sex drive. It was easy for us."

Men who shared ancestry with king solomon lived by the same principals they didn't their wives all wives knew about each other, they were heavily against divorce so they didn't abandon their wives and most importantly his wives and I mean every single one of them wanted for nothing not even sex so what cause was there for complaints ? The kings laws stated that all wives should be well provided for and this is why it was something mainly men of wealth practiced not poor men who barely afford one let alone two with about three to four kids from each to eventually be abandoned
