If a parent is a teacher and had not been paid for 7months to 2years how can the child be taken care of? IT IS EASIER TO PAY THAN DO!!

Rubbish. If they have the money you will not tell them what to do for their children.
Why not raise funds for them yourself?

Catering for the mentally-challenged is a scientific and professional duty that is beyond the comprehension and capability of the odd parent, no matter how caring they may be. It is rather the government's responsibility to put in the mechanisms for addressing disability in our society. Parents do their best but they cannot be enough not to demand more resources from our national government or indeed the international organisations.
Let us take good caution here and not to make uninformed statements to discredit parents of the disabled?. They need our help and may the Lord bless these parents and the nation with a better political party to address the needs of the disabled and the hopeless in our society. We are looking for a Progressive government and not a retrogressive one.
AWAKE Ghana.

It is the responsibility of the Govt to set a plan to help both children and parents re special needs and not the parents themselves mostly poor and can not even afford to look after themselves because of the stigma of having such children in our society. The responsibility lies with both the Ministry of health and education is setting up provision to help such families. Martha in totally wrong in putting the responsibility on rather the parents who themselves are most vulnerable.
