What I know is that God's remnant church are a peculiar people; they will not worship idols by praying to them-- statues, saints, Virgin Mary, and even popes (dead or alive) included! It is worth mentioning that the sole reason we worship God is because He is the Creator of heaven and earth (Genesis 1:1).
"And I saw another angel (God's remnant church) fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory (doxa--honor, dignity, praise) to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship (reverence, adore, praise) him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters" Revelation 14:6-7.
Does God want us to worship him according to his word? Yes.
"But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." Matthew 15:9.
"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created"
Revelation 4:11.
