But if this author will be very open minded to study the Quran very well, he will see the real contradiction inside the Bible as against the authenticity of the Quran...although similar attempts were made to manipulate the Quran, but without any success, and they will never succeed, because God has said in the book: "verily! We(God) revealed the Quran and we will protect it(from manipulation)".

The four oldest manuscripts of the quran available all contradict one another and the modern quran used in mosques accross the globe. According to the custodians of the manuscripts in a museum in Turkey, the one in their possession have about 2500 errors and contradictions to the modern quran.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. I can't imagine the enamous the contradictions would have been, if Uthman, after standardizing the quran, did not order the burning of the original manuscripts.
Shame on Muslims for burning the originals of their own scriptures.

The prophet committed it to memory and passed it to his followers who also committed it to memory. Today, there are thousands of Muslims who have memorized the Qur'an.An average Muslim can recite at least two chapters from memory. Are you suggesting that they burned the original Qur'an from people memory? certainly not. If God doesn't want something to be lost he makes it easy for people to contain it in their memory.
Qur'an 54:17 - We have made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would pay attention?
The reason why it is difficult to corrupt Qur'an is that it is right in memory. If anybody attempt changing any verse he will be exposed. But in the case of the Bible, no one is able to memorize it for generations. The original Hebrew bible is been hidden, so how does one confirm that the translators got everything right. In the case of Qur'an we study both original and translations. So if someone makes error in translation, we still have the original to refer and confirm. I challenge Christians to ask their leaders whereabouts of their original bible.

Were the slaving nations of Portugal Denmark England among others not fundamentalist Christian nations who nonetheless perpetrated slavery in africa and worldwide justified by the endorsement of the deity Jehovah in his bible? Using homosexuality as an example shows u have accepted your position as a slave in Jehovah's kingdom. Homosexuality is not endorsed in the. Bible but slavery is. I am astonished at this author, who comes along preaching honest enquiry and then turning around to display dishonesty of the kind that betrays ignorance. If I could blush, I would do so again and again for this author, who has the effrontery to call himself "sophisticated Christian" albeit indirectly, and also to claim to be the author of a book ( I leave that to him).
(1) If Coleman were honest, he would realise that none of the authors of the Gospels was an eye-witness, let alone a disciple. Biblical scholarship has known this for a long time now.
(2) Biblical scholars such as Ehrman have demonstrated that some of the alterations in the biblical texts are not trivial, as this author seems to think. (see: misquoting jesus and jesus interrupted, both by Ehrman).
(3) It matters not whether Socrates lived or not, or whether Homer´s accounts are reliable, since we are not being asked to organise our lives along these stories. What makes religious claims dangerous is their pernicious interference in the lives of people, with consequences that have been amply demonstrated in history.
In short, I am disappointed in this author, not because I expected anything less but because he prefaced this tedious article with a call for honest investigation, which he has so terribly failed to provide an example in his own writing!

The so called weakness and contradictions in the bible are it's strengths-evidence no attempt was made to Doctor or adulterate it.
The more critical questions should rather be if all text is meant to be taken literally or interpreted contextually and by who. And if every "educated person" has the competency to read and interpret it.

I would like to mention some contradictions in the Bible. We all know that such contradictions cannot be attributed to God but humans. For example, [Math. 1:16] Joseph the carpenter is the son of Jacob. [Luke 3:23] Joseph the carpenter is the son of He'-li. The question is should we believe in Mathew or Luke because either one or both are wrong, both cannot be true.
Also in [1 Corin. 15:5] Jesus appeared to the twelve after he rose again. and in [Math. 28:16] Jesus appeared to the eleven after he rose again. The question is is it 11 or 12.
Again in [John 8:14] If I bear record of myself, yet my record is true.
[John 5:31] If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
Again in [John 9:29] God is with me: The father has not left me alone.
[Math 27:46] My God, my God, why have you forsaken me.
Further in [Luke 5:1] The story of the fishermen happened at the beginning of Jesus's mission.[John 21:1] The story of the fishermen happened after Jesus was resurrected from the dead. Which one is true?
Also in [Math. 21:18] Jesus purified the temple from the sellers before he passed by the fig tree which he cursed. [Mark 11:12] Jesus purified the temple from the sellers after he passed by the fig tree which he cursed. The question is, is it before or after?
Also in [2 Sam. 24:1] God provoked David against Israel, and said: Go and number them. [1 Chron. 21:1] Satan provoked David against Israel and ordered him to go and number Israel. The question is, who actually provoked David? Is it God or the Devil?
Last but not the least in [2 Sam. 10:18] David slew seven hundred chariots of the Syrians. [1 Chron. 19:18] David slew seven thousand chariots of the Syrians. Is it 700 or 7000? How can God inspire these contradiction to these people? For sure these contradictions cannot be from God (because He is not an author of confusion)
There are 1000s of contradictions in the Bible which are available to me, which would be made known to Muslims and Christians alike in my comment to his subsequent publications.
