The fluid translation, and interpretation of the Koran by Muslim scholars may set Muslims apart, but, in reality, they share common belief systems.
1. The atheist denies the existence of God or gods. The Muslim denies that God sent his Son into the world to redeem man (John 3:16).
1 John 2:22-23 states "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father (God) and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also."
2. The atheist believes his humanistic lifestyle is the best, and denies God's sovereignty in his life; the Muslim present his works (5 pillars) as sufficient merits for paradise. Thus the atheist and Muslim circumvent the work of God's grace in which Christ gives us freedom from the penalty of past sins, gives us freedom from the power of sin in our daily lives, and freedom from the presence of sin at sometime in the future.
3.The atheist worships the god of this world, humanism; the Muslim worships Allah who doubles as God but is so deficient in power to have a Son who will die for man's sin, and atone the merits of his righteousness on behalf of the penitent.
Recall that in heaven the highest created angel, Lucifer wanted to be like the Most High (God) and be worshipped; but Michael, the archangel (Christ) kicked him out of heaven (Isaiah 14, Ezekiel 28,
Revelation 12:7-9). Question: Can the Muslim or the atheist fight Satan without Christ? Certainly not.
"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit for without me ye can do nothing"((John 15:5).
Today the atheist is worshipping at the altar of humanism, and the Muslim the altar of works-- without knowing it--both Christless offerings.
Where is Mohammed, the founder of Islam? Where is Voltaire, a notable atheist?
The bones of all these great men are in their graves here on earth-- none has ever gone to paradise. They are all waiting to be resurrected from their graves. And guess who will resurrect the dead! Christ, of course.
Christ wants to resurrect everyone to heaven, but He can't resurrect anyone to heaven who does not believe in him.
"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" (John 15:26).
"If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin" (John 15:22).

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. If I am to choose between Islam and Christianity to determine which is the ideal religion,what I will take into consideration is tolerance. Islam is ubiquitous and is even vibrant in Christian nations. Muslims everywhere are given the freedom to worship their creator without intimidation. And whereas it is a fact that no nation in this world has banned Islam, Christianity is the opposite. There are a number of Islamic countries that have banned Christianity. Even the so-called liberal Islamic countries still persecute persons who are not Muslims. So my choice of a good and acceptable religion is obvious and I know good thinking beings will agree with me.

If you have not known the Holy One of Israel, I encourage you to visit a few Churches; Continue visiting different Churches(living) from time to time until you find a place where an alter call is made, asking people to come forward to give their lives to Christ!
When you go to a Church where alter calls are made, respect that Ministry. In the 80's, one of the Ministries that challenged many to give their lifes to Lord was the Central Gospel Church, under the leadership of Rev Mensah Otabil.
His Salvation messages were powerful, and the convicting power of the Holy Ghost was evident. Many young men and women who were 'hard' surrendered to the Lord. The Ministry continues to be a blessing to many! In those days you could get the cassette from the Church and listen to it. These days there are lot of resources available to enable you discover the purpose of God in your Life.
I am here to challenge you that, if we talk about God, we are referring to the covenant God of Israel. The 'natural knowledge' of God is evident in HIS creation, for the Scriptures even affirms it "The invisible qualities of God are clearly seen in the things that He has made..." Infact, it only a fool who who will deny the existence of God. The evidence of God is so clear that, many religions abound, all in an effort to reach to God.
Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God has come that humanity may be reconciled to God; so that we may no longer live in ignorance, neither can we be deceived by doctrines which are not from him, unless we chose to be deceived. Hence, his has given us HIS WORD. The devil will do whatever it takes to blind you from coming to the SALVATION knowledge of God. One of the subtle tricks of the enemy is to steal from the Scriptures itself and taint it, so that you have something which seems to be true, but not. That is why we need to be vigilant. The scriptures(NT) says "be vigilant for your adversary is roaming about like a roaring lion, seeking whom to devour".
Do not let the fear of man to deprive you of your right to gain Eternal Life. When you study the WORD it would embolden you to stand against your adversaries who are just ignorant of the WORD. Let no man deceive you. Remember, Christ has come to testify of the Jewish inspired writings; he read them and ascribed the writings to himself.
Receive Christ and be Baptized(immersion), else on that day it shall be pitiful for you!

Also quoting Professors or doctors only shows their reliance on authority and not on evidence.
None of this proves anything at all but shows how much work needs to be done in promoting reason and critical thinking.
