Some churches are involved in all sorts of philanthropic activities. They bring a lot of foreign currency into the country for these purposes. However there are many churches, especially the Nigerian churches, which don't bring any foreign currency into this country. They are able to collect from their church members in cedis amounts of enormous proportions. They then buy US dollars or euros and then either transfer it to Nigeria through swift transfers or drive it from Ghana into Nigeria. Any Nigerian church involved in such activities must be shut down by the BOG.
Any Nigerian who wants to purchase foreign currency with cedis must be given Nigerian Naira or CFA Franc.

Many believers think busybody with activities of church is the way to God. True worshippers are those whose prayers are after God's help to love their neighbour. God is closer to us than we think, that is our neighbour. No matter how much we pray or pay tithes and offerings to church if our churchy lives do not translate into love for our neighbour and we still by-pass the hungry, thirsty, naked, sick, imprisoned, widows, strangers, orphans, poor, etc then we still have not done the will of the father in heaven. Read Matthew 7:21-23, 25:31-46. For He "desire mercy and not sacrifice". For no person is going to heaven because they are holy and blameless (self righteousness) on earth, this is why the blood provides access.
People are turning church into gold mine, gambling to get rich, but those tithes and offering to pastors are not relevant in present order of priesthood. Jesus and the earlier church took nobody's money in order that they will be blessed. If we by-pass those in need and worship in churches like the case of the 'Good Samaritan', we will neither find nor do the will of the father who is in heaven.
