Dear Bishop, I am a Catholic and I will like to say that if truly, you did condemn praying in tongues], dancing etc. by Catholics as reported, I beg to say in all humility that you are wrong and I believe that many Catholics will disagree with you. I do not think that the Catholic Church condemns any of these, simply because they are Biblical. You can for instance, refer to Psalm 150.What I think must occupy the attention of the Bishops of Ghana now is to get a Catholic FM Radio and TV Stations, the likes of Emmanuel TV, Dominion TV etc. to foster the New Evangelization and to curb the mass exodus of many Catholics from the Church, rather than condemning praying in tongues, dancing etc. in the Catholic Church.
Long live the Catholic Church in Ghana and may the Risen Lord continue to be with His Church.

Those of us who are not Catholics are not surprise at the comments of the bishop because what he is defending is in line with the history of the church and what the bishop said is in line with the dogma of the church.

Gone are the days when the catholics were spreading beliefs like: if you read the bible on your own you will go mad. A lot of Christians have discovered the truth now and will not sit down in dormant places where there is no spiritual awakening, but belief in dead traditions which will not give salvation. A lot of catholics even trust Mary more than Jesus Christ himself. You exhume bones of old popes and declare them saints whilst the bible teaches contrary to this. Most of you catholic priests just go to seminaries and are ordained by your system to be "fathers". Your system is more political than Christian. We need true salvation, and that can only be received from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through believing in his finished work on the cross of Calvary and surrendering to the Holy Spirit to live a sanctified life by following His words given to us through the Holy Bible. Period!

The Bishop has indeed spoken as a true 'Guardian of Tradition' but 'Tradition' on its own is nothing if it is not self-satisfying and does not lead to ultimate salvation. Saying that Catholics should continue doing things as they have been doing in Rome does not mean much to the ordinary person in the pew who needs something beyond what the Romans do!
It was nice for the Bishop to advise that our religious authorities should pray for the nation. I will go further than that: The religious authorities should advise the politicians to change their ways and mend the broken lives of Ghanaians. Afterall, most of these politicians are supposedly 'very religious' and I am trying to believe that they will listen to the advice of their pastors, ministers, Imams etc. This is not meddling in politics! In our African context, religious faith has always been a guide to those in authority. It is the abuse of it that has given religious faith a bad press. If our religious elites only think of the statistics of membership and the offertory, tithes, Zakah etc., then something is terribly wrong with the people who claim to serve God and humanity.
I am also a bit disturbed that while asking that tribal conflicts should be stopped, the Bishop is invariably stoking Church rivalry. He is in a way 'condemning' other Churches because their ways are not Biblical and hence not Christian!
My Lord Bishop, I am sorry this is, to put it diplomatically, unfortunate!
Unless you were misreported, May the Good Lord have Mercy on you.

Exhuming bones is spooky. Are they also against prayers through our ancestors, it seems to me like it is the same thing as praying through ordained priests albeit popes. I happen to believe if the Bible has declared everyone to be sinful and presented as holy by the blood of Jesus, then our ancestors who have been cleansed through the blood of animals must be saints as well. We must remember that Jesus is replacing the sacrificial lamb. Also we have all been declared priests in Rev. 1:6. Humans want to elevate themselves over others, but Jesus came to us an ordinary man, and anyone who purportedly steps into the apostle Peter's shoes should be an ordinary teacher. By the way, Jesus wants us to think as He does, not worship Him.

I believe your call to adherence to the Catholic Faith is sincere. However, sincerity at the expense of sacrificing Biblical Truth is deadly. To be with, the Catholic Faith particularly with regard to the doctrine of salvation is and has always been a mixture FAITH plus WORKS plus Church Traditions among other things. This i'm afraid is a FALSE GOSPEL. What is most important?, is it the Catholic Faith or the Biblical Faith?. You seem to elevate Catholicism and the Catholic Bible above the supremacy and authority of the Word of God itself but i'm not surprized because the Catholic Church have a historical record of supressing the Scriptures to conform to the Catholic church.
A notice you go by the title "MOST REV", by the way what does that mean" - Biblically, the Title Rev. belong only to Christ and no human being. You on the other hand hold the title Most Rev. Does it mean you are above and beyong Christ?? I leave that to your conscience!! I know you are sincere but let us be sincere in the TRUTH!!!

Pastor Felix or whatever you call yourself, the argument you are advancing against the catholic church is logically untenable and theologically preposterous. What is the basis of your statememt " you seem to elevate catholicism and catholic bible above the supremacy and authority..... Of course coming from a protestant or better still a pentecostal background I don't expect you to be abreast with catholic teachings. However, you would do yourself a wealth of good to educate yourself and your numerous ignoramuses who have the propensity to parade as born again ghanaian saints on the sublime teachings of the catholic church. It is only then that you will know that your new fangled faith, a mushroom sect at that, is an offshoot of the the most holy Roman catholic church.

Pee, Pastor Felix is right. Did you know that the Berean church was described by Luke as more noble believers than those in Thessalonica
"in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so" (Acts 17:11).
Question: How does the new Catholic believer accept the traditional belief that he should pray to Mary, and saints when the Bible maintain that the dead are in their graves
Job 17:13 If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.
Job 14:14 If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.
Jesus says sleep is a metaphor of death.
John 11:11-14 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
Question: Who are Catholics praying to when they pray to Mary and the saints? Not to Mary, and the saints because they are all in their graves awaiting the resurrection.
Let's remember that God will honor his word when we study his word and apply its teachings in our lives.

I am not a pastor but I have asked questions about some catholic believes but no catholic has been able explain to me. if the catholic church claim that pope is a successor of peter, peter was in the upper room when the holy ghost came and he spoke in tongues so why is that you claim supremacy over every church but deny the very source you claim your supremacy from. Pee Know the truth before you die because it will be too late for you. God is not going to Judge us by the catholic doctrine and traditions but the bible. When Jesus walk the surface of the earth he quoted scripture about 230 times none of them come from the books the catholic church has added to the bible. Open up to the holy spirit to teach you. I have never heard catholic quote from the appocrophiles which he claims are scriptures. They are used mostly for personal studies to satisfy ones curiousity to know more about Jesus and his ministry. If they were being used in the catholic church in preachings, I believe catholics will have found it necessary to posses them.
Learn to devote much of your time to preach the word of God and stop complaining about those useless man made traditions.
