It's easier to love those who love us. Love for love is much easier and that's what most people of the world with their worldly standards would do. When you're rewarded with love for giving out love you should not expect to receive another reward from your Father in Heaven for no one gets paid twice for the same job done.It's rather more difficult loving someone who has declared himself your enemy but that's also the mark of a true christian or a true follower of Christ.An eye for an eye is certainly an un-christlike attitude and would eventually lead to an all blind world. Loving your enemy is what Christ expects of us and we're more likely to win over the enemy and make him a friend. The merciful shall obtain mercy; the pure in heart shall see God; the peacemakers shall be called the children of God and the meek shall inherit the celestialized earth. To be meek is not being easily provoked. Meekness is not weakness as the world might say but rather strength.Meekness is self mastery. No one can dwell in the kingdom of God, in God's presence who has not acquired the art of self mastery on earth. The Savior's sermon on the mount (Matthew 5, 6, & 7 )is our blueprint for perfection and includes mastering the godly attribute of love. Not everyone who professes christianity and says Lord, Lord, Lord will enter into the kingdom of God. You must learn to live the higher law which includes loving everyone, your neighbor including your enemies, homosexuals etc, and forgiving all men their sins and trespasses against you. That's a tall order but it's achievable
