There's time to grieve and there's time to be happy. If the time has come for him to die God should grant him quick death and not to let him suffer for days before he dies. May God's wish prevail !!!.

As an individual if you truly believe in GOD you better pray for HIS mercy and forgiveness for yourself rather than long life and wealth that might bring you no good in the end. Death is inevitable, how we die is all that matters. What Ghanawatch said is how I pray for myself everyday in my life - I don't care how long I live for or how soon I die, as long as I die in the mercy of the Creator (GOD) and I don't suffer before I die, and I'm a young man who is not even married yet, never mind an 88 year-old Pope.
