Ghana to pray on July 1

The Charles Buckman Ministries and Fatherhood International, an organization that promotes fatherhood globally, is calling on Ghanaians to pray to God for a turnaround.

A statement issued to the GNA said Ghana’ s moral and spiritual roots are eroding, with a challenging economy and its attendant effects causing the country’s foundation to crumble; families are disintegrating and political forces are at an unprecedented odds.

“It is tempting to believe that Ghana has reached a point of no return. While these factors cause despair, we are reminded by scriptures that with God all things are possible and no problem is too great for him”.

“Seasons of distress and uncertainty and hardship calls for faithful, fervent prayer by God’s people and remind us of our responsibility to humble ourselves before the almighty God,” Dr C.J Buckman, founder of the Charles Buckman Ministries, said.

The statement said God longs for his people to humble themselves and ask for forgiveness and pray for guidance.

It said it is against this backdrop that Charles Buckman Ministries and Fatherhood International is organizing the Global Day of Prayer for Ghana on the theme: “One Nation under God, Ghana Prays” on July 1 at the College of Physicians and Surgeons.

The statement said the global prayer concert sets the ball rolling for Ghanaians across the globe to collectively seek God’s divine intervention for the challenges the nation is facing, for leaders and all those who govern and ask God to turn their hearts and for them to follow him.

It said prayers would starts from 0600 hours to 0800 hours on July 1 in the ten regions, followed by the gathering of saints at the college of Physicians and Surgeons to crown it all.

“Pray that as a nation we will return to God. Let us do so by genuine faith believing that he hears our prayers. God can heal this great land, for which our forefathers fought and died. We need spiritual renewal, we need revival in Ghana, and we need each and everyone to pray”, the statement said.
