Kingsley Makelby Ministries gives to patients in UER hospital

The Founder and President of the Kingsley Makelby Ministries, Evangelist Kingsley Makelby, has presented items to patients in the Upper East Regional Hospital in Bolgatanga and prayed for them for a speedy recovery.

The items; which included; loaves of bread, toothbrushes and toothpaste, bars and cubes of soap, powdered milk, milo and about 160 bars of sachet water were presented in collaboration with the Scripture Union (SU) in the Upper East Region.

Evangelist Makelby who led the team to present the items to the paediatric unit, male and female wards, the emergency, gynaecological and maternity units, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that apart from preaching the Gospel of Christ, the Ministries supports the sick, prisons, and orphanages across the country.

According to the Founder, the Lord commanded the Ministries to extend love and care to the sick in hospitals, “We try to preach our word through deeds, we want them to know that God loves them, if they are sick, it does not mean that society has forgotten about them.”

He said apart from the gifts, the Ministries would help settle the hospital bills of those who could not afford, adding that it was an ongoing nationwide exercise adopted by the Ministries, which had so far visited three hospitals including; the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra and the Upper West Regional Hospital in Wa.

Touching on the COVID-19 pandemic, the Evangelist said it was time for the world to reflect spiritually, to know that God was supreme and owned everything in the world and all human beings should worship and obey His commandments.

He urged members of the public to take precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the virus, and said: “I know pretty soon, this virus will go in Jesus’ name.”

Mr George Amadu Alalbila, the Area Chairman of the SU in charge of the Upper East and North East Regions said the Union recognized the importance to collaborate with the Kingsley Makelby Ministries to propagate the Gospel of Christ because the activities of the Ministries were in accordance with the principles of the SU.

Receiving the items on behalf of the patients, Madam Mary Kalim, the Deputy Director of Nursing Services (DDNS) of the Hospital, thanked the Ministries and the SU for the gifts, and appealed for more support to patients and the hospital for efficient health care delivery.
