Joe Mensah adjudged best MP in Sekondi-Takoradi

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Kwesimintsim Constituency, Hon. Joseph Mensah popularly known as ‘Joe Mensah’ has emerged as the best performing first time MP in the house of Legislators in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis, a poll has revealed.

The Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis has seven constituencies and the Kwesiminstim MP emerged tops as the best performing first time MP in the seven constituencies in the metropolis in the house of Legislators.

In a poll conducted by a group of Journalist in the Sekondi-Takoradi, Joe Mensah placed sixth out of the total 17 constituencies in the western region and emerging tops as the best performing first time MP in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis.

Western Journal (WJ) made up of Journalist is a Non-Governmental advocacy group. WJ in the period of January conducted the poll to gauge impressions and perceptions of electorates on performances of their Members of Parliament in their respective constituencies since they assumed office in 2017.

The online poll also identified the most promising MP’s in terms of performance for both the Western and Western North regions.

The online survey conducted by WJ, first of its kind has sent the ball rolling for series of advocacy activities to be carried out by the group.

The poll which was administered over one month (January 1-31 2020) via online and social media platforms was responded to by a total of 398 people.

Out of the group score of 1,827 for the 26 MP’s in the two regions, the Parliamentary Representative for Ellembelle, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah topped with a percentage score of 32.35.

Next to follow was the Parliamentary Representative for Tarkwa Nsuaem, George Mireku Duker who scored 15.54% of the group score.

Mpohor, Shama, Prestea Hunni-Valley, Sekondi and Jomoro Parliamentary Representatives occupied the last five bottom of the table scoring from 0.273 to 0.492.
