Deputy Minister for Energy in charge of Petroleum, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, has underscored the need for religious tolerance indicating that it is a major catalyst for development.

He observed that Christians, Muslims, Dagombas and Konkombas are all descendants of God and the same people with a common destiny, as such, they must endeavour to peacefully co-exist in love for one another and for the country

“Because Unity and peace would help to accelerate development. The NPP government will continue to work for the people by addressing their basic needs as well as laying a solid foundation for the transformation of the country. That the Karaga District is going to see unprecedented levels of development covering electricity, good drinking water, schools and health facilities,” he disclosed while speaking to Christians in commemoration of this year’s Christmas at Binkoli in the Karaga District.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the area shocked residents when he quoted from Colossians 3: 13-14 and 1 Corinthians 1:10 to buttress his point on the need for tolerance among them.

He stressed that what unites Christians and Muslims is more than what divides them, urging them to eschew practices that will disintegrate their front citing from the Quran Chapter 3 verse 103 which states “And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided”.

“Islam recognizes that Jesus Christ was born miraculously, Jesus Christ will come back to the earth and Jesus Christ performed miracles- gave sight to the blind, made the cripple walked”, he added.

The Deputy Minister appealed to residents to continue to have faith in President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and vote for him in the 2020 Polls as he has proven to be a better manager of the Ghanaians economy.
