Accra Brewery Limited (ABL) has donated food items, clothes, toys, shoes, personal hygiene items and Beta Malt - one of the company's products, worth thousands of cedis to the Village of Hope Orphanage at Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region.

Ms Adwoa Aaba Arthur, ABL’s Legal and Corporate Affairs Director, said the donation was meant to put smiles on the faces of the orphans ahead of the Christmas celebrations.

“As a proud part of Anheuser-Busch InBev (ABInBev), the world’s largest brewer, this donation fulfils our dream of bringing people together for a better world," she said.

She said the company is committed to supporting the first UN Sustainable Development Goal of eradicating poverty, adding that, “this donation, is part of our investment in a growing world, where everyone has the opportunity to improve their livelihood”.

Ms Arthur said volunteering was one of ABL’s core corporate values and an important part of their contribution to communities as some ABL volunteers interacted with the children and served them with meat pies and Beta Malt.

“By volunteering our time and resources, our colleagues are able to play a direct role in bringing to life our shared dream,” she said.

Mr Kwaku Sarkodie, the Managing Director of the Village of Hope Orphanage, accepted the donation on behalf of the Orphanage and expressed his gratitude to the Management and staff of ABL.

“ABL’s kind gesture and goodwill will ensure that our children enjoy a special Christmas,” he said.

In addition to ABL’s Dream of bringing people together for a better world, the company has also invested in a "Cleaner World" where natural resources are shared and preserved for the future; and in a "Healthier World" where every experience with beer is positive.

Accra Brewery Limited has been a major player in the Ghanaian alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage market since 1931, offering brands such as CLUB Premium Lager, Eagle Lager, Eagle Extra Stout, CLUB Shandy, Stella Artois; Budweiser, and the non-alcoholic malt beverage Beta Malt, as brands available to cherished customers.
