Ahafo-Ano assembly presents bicycles to NADMO

Tepa (Ash), April 29, GNA - The Ahafo-Ano North District Assembly has presented nine bicycles valued at six million cedis to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) at Tepa.

The District Chief Executive, Mr Akwasi Adu-Poku, who made the presentation said the assembly realised the important role the zonal co-ordinators play in disaster management and therefore, decided to support them from the assembly's budgetary estimate and pledged continuous assistance to them.

He advised the NADMO officers to refer all disaster management cases to the appropriate quarters to avoid giving promises they are not sure of fulfilling to victims to raise their expectations only to disappoint them later.

He praised the co-ordinators for planting 1,500 acacia seedlings at Anyinasuso, Tepa, Akwasiase, Manfo, Dwaaho and Kojo Betako and urged the community to protect the seedlings to grow. The District NADMO Co-ordinator, Nana Atakora Kodua, thanked the assembly for being supportive in their activities and gave assurance that the bicycles will be used for their intended purposes. He also advised the beneficiaries to put the bicycles into purposeful use by handling them with care, adding that, the bicycles remain the property of NADMO and could therefore be taken back at any time if found to be misused.
