GAIT presents motorbike to Hohoe Civic Union

Hohoe (V/R), April 21, GNA - The Government Accountability Improved Trust (GAIT), a USAID sponsored non-governmental organisation into good governance on Wednesday presented a motorbike to the Hohoe Civic Union (HCU) at a brief ceremony at Hohoe.

Mr Julius Azumah, Hohoe District Technical Assistant of GAIT 2 Programme said the gesture stemmed from vibrancy of the HCU, which when nurtured could serve as a mouthpiece of civil society in the area. He said the vital public educational role played by the Civic Unions during the last elections was ample proof to their importance at the current stage of Ghana's socio-economic development.

Mr Anthony Kumagah, Chairman of the HCU said the motorbike would increase the reach of the union's field workers and thereby get many more to participate in local government. 21 April 05
