PTAs/SMCs executives attend Seminar on FCUBE

Mankranso (Ash), April 19, GNA-A day's seminar on Free Compulsory Universal Basic Education (FCUBE) has been held for executives of Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) and School Management Committee (SMCs) in the Ahafo-Ano South District at Mankranso.

It was organised by the District Directorate of Education and aimed at equipping participants with the requisite skills required for improving upon the standard of education in the district. They were taken through topics such as FCUBE and its components, composition and responsibilities of PTAs and SMCs, protocols and implementation of the School Performance Improvement Plan among others. Mr Sampson Amofa-Krah, the District Director of Education, urged the participants to accept ownership of schools and to protect educational facilities.

He appealed to teachers, PTAs, SMCs and the people to collaborate efforts to promote teaching and learning in their respective communities.

Mr Kwaku Amoah, head of the Inspectorate Division of the District Education, urged the participants to work closely with the communities to initiate school projects before seeking government and the assembly's support.
