Court stops elections at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital

Two aggrieved members with the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) Health Service Workers Union (HSWU) have secured a court order restraining leadership from conducting elections to elect a new crop of leaders to steer affairs of the Union for another term.

Plaintiffs, Awuni Akyireba and Emmanuel Kusi Sarpong through their lawyers are accusing their leadership of a clandestine move to conduct election on their blindside which was scheduled for Friday, 19th October 2019.

“There should be fairness, injustice and transparency,” Mr. Awuni Akyireba, also the National Representative of HSWU in charge of welfare, KATH told our reporter after Motion of Notice from a High Court in Kumasi made available to MyNewsGh.com by the plaintiffs.

The plaintiffs are therefore praying the Honourable Court to compel the defendants to give the plaintiffs opportunity to contest in the election.

“A further order declaring the election advertised as null and void as due process of law and procedure was not followed”.
