Assin Fosu Church of Pentecost launches 'Environmental Care Campaign'

The Area Head of the Church of Pentecost, Assin Fosu Area in the Central Region, Apostle Sylvester Arhin has launched the Environmental Care Campaign dubbed, "My environment, my responsibility".

The launch was held on Friday, 14th June 2019.

Delivering the keynote address, Apostle Sylvester Arhin reminded the gathering of how The Church of Pentecost since 1937 of its inception had contributed positively through various generations in all facets of the development of the nation.

According to him, the current trend of environmental-related disasters like floods must be a cause of worry and concern to all well-meaning Christians and citizens of Ghana and therefore, as part of the church's vision 2023 agenda, it has set itself up to lead the onslaught in consonance with the government state agencies, Zoomlion Ghana Limited and all well-meaning citizens to embark on clean up exercise from the National level to every cottage in the country where the church had a presence.

He then appealed to the conscience of all present to have an attitudinal change making environment cleanliness not just a one-day act but also a habit for life.

Present at the launch were representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency, Community Development, Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Information Services Department and a representative of the District Chief Executive, Mr. Emmanuel Forson (District Environmental Officer).

The launching was followed by a massive clean-up exercise through the principal street of Twifo Praso and tree planting along the major roads of the town.
