Seven people seriously injured in clashes at Jantulpe

Seven people have been hospitalized following clashes between settler farmers and landlords at Gyantulpe in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region.

Police have arrested three persons in connection with the incident.

The clashes were as a result of the performance of traditional rites by the Jantulpe people who are mostly Gonjas.

According to reports, the Gyantulpe people tried to catch the livestock of the Nasoyi people who are mostly settlers, they resisted the move and the fight ensued.

Five more suspects who have relocated to Damongo are on the run and being hunted by the police.
