MP donates set of dryers to graduate hairdressers

Mr Andrew Kofi Mercer, the Member of Parliament for Sekondi Constituency, has donated 20 sets of brand-new hair dryers to support some ladies who had successfully undergone training in hairdressing within the Constituency.

The sets of hair dryers were presented on behalf of the MP by Mr Percy Mogue-Ansah, Chairman of the New Patriotic Party in the Sekondi Constituency with the executive to the newly graduated hairdressers in Takoradi.

A statement signed by Mr Mogue-Ansah and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Tuesday said the donation was in fulfilment of a pledge by the MP to Mrs Elizabeth Bossman, the President of the Sekondi Hairdressers Association to support the graduating class of Hairdressers from the Constituency.

The gesture was to empower and improve the livelihood of the graduates and translate in improved standard of living.

Miss Emmanuelle Cecilia Eshun, on behalf of the graduating class expressed gratitude to the MP for the support and encouraged him to support vocational training within the Constituency to help eradicate the teenage pregnancy menace.

She called on the MP to put in place financial packages that can cater for those who want to take part in the project but do not have the financial capacity to be enrolled unto the program.
