Frank Dzidefo Toulassi has been enstooled Chief of Development for the Alfukope-Kpogadzi area in the Volta region by the elders of the town over the weekend.

After minutes of traditional rites, he was finally labelled as Togbe Kordeza Frank Dzidefo Toulassi as his chieftaincy title.

Frank Dzidefo Toulassi came to the intervention of the people of Aflukope last year in November when he led his NGO Massive Cheerful Giving Network (MCGN) to donate items to the people of the community.

Prior to his visit to the town, the people were handicap as students did not have access to basic necessities to aid education. Students were unable to attend classes on time because they had to swim across a river to the other side in order to attend school.

With the help of Massive Cheerful Giving Network, Frank supported the people with Canoe, books, uniforms, football jerseys and many others. After the first donation, he led Stanbic Bank to donate a water tank, jerseys, books and other writing accessories to Mafi Kpogazi D/A, a school located in the town.

Speaking in an interview after his enstoolment, Togbe Kordeza said it was a privilege to hold such an influential role.

“Although it is quite a prestigious and influential role, I am still and I will still be the humble individual that I am. I would describe the new role as one that is eye-opening and also very crucial. One that will open many more doors for me which will aid me in my quest to make the less privileged feel important and loved,” Togbe Kordeza said.

The young chief added that “Being a young person in this role, which is traditionally occupied by elderly persons, I want to show everyone that it is up to us young ones to make a change in our society so that we may live to see the results of our work. It is now that we have to put effort into moving things around, not when we are old. This is only the first step of change that I am making. Voilà, I am the youth and I am also the Chief of Development. Change is possible.”

Togbe Toulassi disclosed that MCGN’s “next project is focusing on young girls in Kpandai, a community in the Northern Region. These girls do not have access to good hygienic products such as sanitary pads when they are menstruating. As a result, they don't attend school nor leave their houses in these times. Our aim is to support and sponsor them with these products and also educate them on self-care and the importance of everyday hygiene putting special emphasis on hygiene during their monthly cycle.”

He emphasized that the MCGN will not only donate but will also transform the minds the society by engaging them in educational projects.
