The Volta Regional Office of the National Disaster Management Organisation has celebrated its 2018 achievements with an end of year party.

Mr Divine Bosson, the Regional Director, said targets of zero flooding in Ho, and other cities in the Region were met, after successfully preparing waterways and drains ahead of the rainy season.

He appreciated the hard work of staff, and praised the support of stakeholders, whose collaboration he said contributed immensely towards the feat.

The Director said an excavator had been secured for use in the Region, whiles a District Office had also been opened in Krachi Nchumuru to end years of sharing office space with the District's Fire Office.

"NADMO is poised for action in 2019 and beyond," Mr Bosson said, adding that the Organisation had increased public education through all media, including the use of jingles to aid season round awareness.

The Director said the timely distribution of NADMO funds had greatly facilitated its work, and said the vision for 2019 was to avert disasters totally and called on staff to be proactive.

Dr Archibald Yao Letsa, Volta Regional Minister, said the region recognised the Organisation's role in ensuring security, and would continue to work together "to ensure NADMO lived up to expectation"
