Amma Frimpomaa Dwumah, Managing Director (MD) of SIC Life Savings and Loans Company Limited, has presented an infant incubator, Phototherapy Machine and some mattresses worth over USD $10,000 to the Kwatire Polyclinic in the Sunyani West District of the Brong Ahafo region.

This forms part of efforts to save and protect babies.

Amma Frimpomaa Dwumah was accompanied by the DCE for Sunyani West Constituency, Martin Obeng, Omanhemaa of Awuah Dumasi Traditional Council, Deputy Regional Director of Health Services and Professor Stephen Tabiri, Vice Dean of the UDS Medical School.

Professor Stephen Tabiri happens to be the point man spearheading appeal for support for the Kwatire Polyclinic.

Already, she has made similar donations to the Sunyani Regional Hospital as well.

According to Amma Frimpomaa, the gesture comes at a time when newly born babies require attention and optimum care to protect them and to further avoid premature deaths.

Touching on what motivated her to embark on this charity, she shared a very sad real life story.

She recounted that her sister lost her newly born daughter at the Sunyani Regional Hospital in 2015. She said it took the family some years to recover and get over it since it was a hard time.

"This is a situation I wouldn't want any other family to go through so I am personally doing my bit by donating these incubators to ensure that we save some new born babies."

She also revealed that she grew up in the Kwatire Community and felt this was the right time to give back to her society.

Management of the Kwatire Polyclinic on their part, received the items with delight and further thanked the SIC Life Savings and Loans MD for the kind gesture.
