Assemblyman calls for rehabilitation of road in food producing area

Nkoranza, (B/A) Oct. 21, GNA- Mr Clement Zumanie, Assemblyman for Pienyina Electoral Area in the Nkoranza District has appealed for rehabilitation of the 12-kilometre feeder road from Bredi Number One on the Nkoranza-Ejura road.

Mr Zumanie said the poor state of the road made it difficult for the people to transport their goods to the marketing centers and as a result, large quantities of yam, maize, millet, cassava and rice were locked up in the communities.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nkoranza, the Assemblyman said because of the bad road the people found it difficult to carry their goods to the Ejura market. Mr Clement Zumanie complained of lack of good drinking water for the people of Peinyina, Pruso Number Two and Tailorkrom all in his electoral area and pleaded with the Nkoranza District Assembly to provide them with boreholes.

He was grateful to the District Directorate of Education for opening a basic school at Pruso for children in the area. He advised the youth and political party supporters in the area never to allow themselves to be used by party leaders to cause mischief. 21 Oct. 04
