AngloGold Ashanti Basic School scores 100% in BECE

Bibiani (W/R), Sept. 29, GNA- AngloGold Ashanti Bibiani Limited Basic School at Bibiani in the Western region scored 100 percent at this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The school presented 21 candidates out of whom 15 students scored aggregate six, two students got aggregate seven, two scored aggregate eight and two had aggregate nine.

Mr Peter Dadzie, headteacher of the school announced this at the graduation ceremony of the school at Bibiani at the week-end. The ceremony was jointly organised by the school's Board of Governors, Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and the Management of the company to show appreciation to the students and staff for their outstanding performance.

He said it was not the first time the school had chalked such a remarkable success and that the school came first in the performance monitoring test conducted in the district in 2000, 2001 and 2002. Mr Brent Horochuck, Managing Director of the company commended the staff for their untiring efforts that ensured the achievement.

Mr Thomas Nyarko-Danquah, Administrative Manager of the company who chaired the function hoped that the school would not rest on its oars but strive to achieve even greater laurels.
