Otumfuo reinstates Atwima chief

Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has reinstated the chief of Atwima, Nana Agyei Brempong II, following his destoolment a couple of months ago for insubordination.

Nana Agyei Brempong II was removed after he defied Otumfuo's order not to step on a disputed parcel of land at Atwima Kwanwoma.

He was also found guilty of wrongful use of the oath of Asantehene and was subsequently dethroned by the King.

The decision by Otumfuo to reinstate the deposed chief came after he rendered an apology to Manhyia through some high-profile personalities including former President John Kufuor.

The Asantehene has announced Monday, 25 June 2018 for a proper reinstatement.
