Assembly assists communities undertaking self-help projects

Tepa (Ash), March 28, GNA - The Ahafo-Ano North District Assembly has purchased building materials worth 49 million cedis to assist a number of communities that are undertaking self-help projects. The items include 40 packets of roofing sheets and 400 bags of cement. Communities to be benefited include Achina, which has been allocated three packets of roofing sheets and 40 bags of cement to complete their classroom block.

The Alhassankrom Traditional Birth Attendants Centre was allocated a packet of roofing sheets and 20 bags of cement to rehabilitate the block. Mr Akwasi Adu-Poku, the District Chief Executive, who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency at Tepa on Friday, said the assembly would continue to support any community that initiated its own development projects. He also appealed to the people to honour their tax obligation to enable the assembly to support their community projects. On the on-going voters registration, Mr Adu-Poku appealed to all eligible voters to register to enable them to exercise their franchise in the forthcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.
