The presentation was done on behalf the association by its Chairman, Mr. Thomas Asante and Financial Secretary, Mr. Samuel Aniakwah, who were in the country during the Easter festivities.

Making the presentation, the Chairman of Ghanaian Friendship Association in Columbus Ohio said that the association took the decision to make this important donation to the Akropong School for the Blind as part of activities marking their inauguration celebration held in December last year.

“We have a lot of tribal associations in Ohio, but ours is all tribal and ethnic groups coming together to form this charitable organization to help the needed in our homeland Ghana”, Mr. Thomas Asante explained.

The Headmistress of the school, Mahela Narh and the Assistant Headmaster, Mr. Joseph Atsu Homadzi, expressed delight for the kind gesture and called on other associations to emulate the shining example by Ghanaian Friendship Association. She hinted that the donation was very timely because the school had run out of stock of food items.

The items, which included bags of rice, cooking oil, and cartons of milk, soaps, milo, tissue papers and others, were received by the girls’ prefect of the school.
