Anglican Priest urges Christians to consolidate peace

Bolgatanga, Feb. 9, GNA- An Anglican priest in Bolgatanga, The Reverend Edwin Abanga, at the weekend called on Christians and other religious groupings to actively contribute to consolidating the country's peace and stability it prepares towards another election this year.

"Everyone owes it a duty to ensure that the peace we enjoy today is sustained by correcting the wrong things our neighbours, friends, people in authority and indeed we ourselves do".

Reverend Abanga was preaching at the Saint Cyprians Parish in Bolgatanga.

He said most people do wrong things because of persistent jealousy and greed to acquire wealth, adding that it was now common for people to sell narcotic drugs, prepare concoctions, toxics, produce fake drugs and kill vultures for human beings to consume without considering the effects these things have on human life.

He noted that the peace being enjoyed in the country did not come by magic but by prayers and faith that Ghanaians have in God. "It is for this reason that I call on all Ghanaians to hold firm the peace and contribute to sustain it."
