Atwima Mponua Rural Bank makes profit

Kumasi, Dec. 30, GNA - Mr Ben Bekoe Yirenkyi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Atwima Mponua Rural Bank at Toase, has appealed to the staff of the Bank to redouble their efforts in the coming year to sustain the remarkable success it chalked this year.

He said not withstanding their impressive performance of making an after tax profit 1.9 billion cedis, there was the need for them to work even harder to improve upon the Bank's growth in the years ahead. Mr Yirenkyi was speaking at an end-of-year party organised by the bank for the Directors, Management and staff.

The Board Chairman reminded them that the competition in the rural banking sector had become very fierce and said this called for hard work.

He pledged the support and co-operation of the Board for the Management and Staff and said everything would be done to ensure a cordial and friendly working relationship.

Mr Samuel Agyepong Ansong, Supervising Manager of the Bank, said the Bank chalked its success even in the face of challenges, when the Government's economic stabilization policies led to drastic drop in interest rates.
